Acer Aspire desktop will not go to start page

Something odd happened to my 12 month old desktop. I shut it down, unplugged from the mains, moved the office around, plugged it back in and....nothing. Well, not totally true. We go to the lovely green acer sign and two choices; Del: Enter Setup or F12: Boot Menu. And neither option works. I'm pretty sure I'm not doing anything wrong here so, is there something seriously wrong with my desktop?

Any advice, suggestions or helpful hints welcome.

Re: Acer Aspire desktop will not go to start page

Sounds like you have a problem with the bios. Give acer a call or check in ur manual for how to flash the bios and it should work. If it doesn't id say move the tower up onto the desk so you can make use of your glorious new paperweight =/
if anyone says anything that contradicts me their probably right :P

Thanks Lag! Not very keen on the paperweight option, to be honest, so will give that a go and let you know how I get on.

Re: Acer Aspire desktop will not go to start page

Hey Lag, guess what? Had severe storms a couple of nights ago in Dubai and the power shorted out in the house. When we reset the trip switches imagine my surprise when the old Acer starts up and heads straight to the start page. So there it is, if your desktop gets stuck, wave a metal pole around while standing on your roof in the middle of a storm. I'm sure the helpdesk would have told me the same! (Only kidding! Please don't do this! If you have an IBM, it just won't work!)
