PC Boots with Video, BIOS works OK but CD and HD gets no power
I have an ASUS A8N-E MB, 4GB RAM, DVD RAM Drive, 2 WD 250GB SATA HDs and a Nvidia 7600 card. One day i was playing Oblivion til very late. I shut down the PC and went to bed. In the next day when i came back from work to PC would boot but it would not give any power to the DVD drive, HDs or floppy. The PC boots and does load the BIOS. but the above items get no power and obviously dont show up in the BIOS. I have replaced the power supply, MB, DVD Drive, floppy and HDs. I have 2 CPUs available for testing. The first is on older AMD Athlon 64 3000 CPU which boots up fine. I also have a newer AMD CPU and X2 Athlon 4200 CPU which also boots fine.
Any ideas before I just give up and get a new PC? |
