the differenc between $850 RAM, and $91 RAM?

at Newegg, there is $91 4gb ram (2 2GB) of OCZ

and there is $850 4 GB RAM (2 2GB)

what difference would there be in one over the other? Why would you buy $850 RAM?

$759. Sorry, I couldn't resist that.
Seriously, $91 seems a reasonable price to pay. I can't see the justification for $850 but perhaps one of my colleagues in Hardware can shed more light on it.

It would be helpful if you had a link to the product.

But if you're talking about this one, it's DDR3:

New technology. Give it 6 months and it will be cheap(er) also.

Re: the differenc between $850 RAM, and $91 RAM?

only foolish people with plenty of money are buying DDR3 memory right now

the best part is; right now with the CAS latencies of the DDR3 sticks out there right now they are not even as fast as DDR2

DDR3 prices will not drop for another year

stick with a DDR2 system and enjoy >>>>> the P-35 chipset motherboards are the fastest right now / even faster than the newest X38 and X48 chipsets

Thanks Linderman. That seems to confirm what I said earlier.
