Transferring data from Win98SE to Vista

I have a Windows 98SE operating pc and have just purchased a new Dell Vista operating system pc. Other than creating CD's with my music, pictures and data on them, is there any way I can transfer this data from the 98SE O.S. to the new Vista one? I haven't been able to purchase the memory stick flash drives locally (MS) that will support the 98SE. HELP!!!

the usb data transfer cables sometimes have issues with vista.
