Startup Troubles

Hello all,

I'm currently trying to fix my sisters computer, I had to reformat her hdd and then install Windows XP on it. So I got that done successfully now heres where the trouble starts, I had to reset the computer to finish installing a program but when it finishes detecting the last (Secondary Slave) IDE the machine just hangs and nothing else happens. So I took out all the memory and started it up which of course I knew nothing would happen, all it did after I powered up was a steady sound of beeps (beeeep....beeeep....beeep and so on). So I turned off the power and placed one of the ram sticks back in, this time I got as far as the detection and nothing else. I tried the other stick by itself and the same thing happens again. I'm wondering now do I have bad ram or is there something else here that I should try.

Her PC has:
AOPEN MB
128 MB Ram
400 MHz Celeron Processor
64 MB Video Card
30 MB HDD

Re: Startup Troubles

Just an update of the situation, I started up the PC this morning and it did start up correctly. Seems like I can started it 2 or 3 times a day without a hitch and if I have to restart it again I won't get any further then the IDE detection. Oh yeah if any one is wondering it is a fairly old PC (purchased in 1999) and its BIOS maker is Award. If anyone needs more specifics, I'll happily get the posted.
