PC Will Not Boot With RAM!

Hi guys

Im new to this forum thingy and i need a little help.

After getting a new motherboard, i found out i couldnt use my old ddr RAM anymore so i borrowed 2 of my friends 256mb ddr2 ones (512mb) and my computer was fine. To upgrade, i bought 2 Kingston Valueram sticks at 1gb each and 667mhz 5300. The first arrived (1.25gb) and after i fitted it by replacing one of the old ones, it suddenly kept restarting just when it is supposed to boot up. Confused, i switched the RAM around and all of a sudden it began to boot up like normal (1.25gb) and stayed fine until the second RAM came. I replaced it with the old stick and started up my comp (2gb). Then, again it started restarting until i had to shut it down manually. So i thought if i try switching the sticks around maybe it would work but no.

My motherboard is Biostar PT890 SE and i obviously did my research on which RAM to get so it supports the 667mhz speed and the capacity is 4gb, more than enough. And its not that my computer does not work because it identifys the new 2gb of RAM and i can get into bios and change settings but it still restarts before its supposed to boot. I even tryed my windows disk and that works. Using my windows disk i tryed to repair the system but it found no problems with my memory. So i thought maybe i should reinstall windows to fix the problem but i would like advice first.

Another thing is that when i took one stick out and put my old 256mb one back in (1.25gb), it worked like normal so im confused. Can anyone help me. Sorry about the giant post by the way.

Re: PC Will Not Boot With RAM!

My power supply is OCZ StealthXStream 600w.

Reseting is the jumpers on the motherboard, or pulling out the battery for a while right? Because i tried restoring defaults in bios and that didnt work. Just checking but i will do that later thanks.
