[SOLVED] Comp Wont turn on
I had just finished installing my new Sound card: Creative Labs Soundblaster Live! And I was not hearing any sound out of it. So I went to download the drivers, changed my mind because the McAfee Site Advisor was blinking red and I thought well I can just disable my onboard. I disabled my onboard and it said hardware changes have been done, restart. So As I went to restart I heard the XP shut down jingle and was like wheee! So as it was restarting, the screen showed XP loading then it just turned off. BlooP! just like that...off. Since that moment nothing turns on...nothing. No fans no power nothing. Is it a virus form the driver site, the PSU randomly died, or a surge fried everything, or what? Please I beg someone to give me an answer.

Re: Comp Wont turn on
Hello and Welcome to TSF.
It's not a virus. It sounds as if the PSU died, since you get no signs of life. Please post your PC Make and Model or ,if a custom build, full system specs as outlined here stickies Do you access to another PSU to try? Are there any lights on the motherboard? |

Re: Comp Wont turn on
have you tried the simplest thing of all? take the sound card out, and then try re-booting... sometimes we install bad components and they bring the rest of the system down.
