Dell Dimension E520 Memory Problems

I have a Dell Dimension e520 (windows xp pro service pack 2, 32bit)

i had 1g memory in it (2x512mb)

i brought 2x 1gb memory (533mhz ddr2 64x8 dual channel ready)

i stuck them in my pc, according to the manal 1 stick on dimm 1 then another on dimm 3, and my old 512's on dimm 2 and 4.

i then started my pc up, and it starts up then when its in windows it gives me a blue screen and says "system shutting down to save damage to your computer, if u have new memory, try disabling caching or shadowing in the bois (cant find this, iv been told not all have the option)

then i tryed vairous ways of puttng the ram in, the bois says it dectects it, but wen windows boots up, it gives me the blue screen, or makes a noise contanstly and crash's, and one time it said a driver nfts.sys was damaged.

Any help would be greatly appractied
