desktop won't power on

My home computer is a Sony Vaio, VGC-RB40(G). During a storm over the weekend our home lost power and the unit took a hard power down. Now I can't get it to power back on. There's a flashing green light on the back (just under the power cord) but I can't get it to boot up. Is this a simple problem or do I need to take it in for repair?

Frankly, the power outage may have fried some components.

If the power supply runs, but the computer doesn't boot, then clear the CMOS and see if that gets it going again. .
