adding another RAM 256mb with 3200 speed did somthing to my video card

Ok so i had the problem of adding an extra stick of 256mb ram at 3200 speed to my other 256mb ram and this speeded up my pc. However when i started my games oh no! age of empires color distortion

and red back ground

BUT
reinstalled card
after taking it out the problem still remained, then i took the video card/ adapter out cleaned it and replaced it then left the pc off overnight without the power cable in the back.

1.Now the graphics have returned to normal and everything is fine but i want to know what will happen if i add the extra RAM again will my video card produce the same problem again with the coor distortion or will it be fine?

2. what happened when i added the ram conflict ? overheating

Additional Details

both DDR
and even both samsung make

how do i set the speed to the slowest stick because im guessing the older stick isnt 3200 speed as the new one although i do not know

The added ram would or should default to the speed of the original, assuming the original is slower.
clear the cmos and try it again
unplug the machine, de-static yourself, and pop the battery out for 10 minutes.
also give us the complete specs of your system including the supply.
