[SOLVED] Incompatible ram?
I recently purchased a GA-P35C-DS3R (rev. 2.0) motherboard but when I turn it on, I get through 1 or 2 screens before it crashes. I thought it might be the CPU overheating, and I reaplied Arctic Silver 5 to be sure, but still no luck. I think it might be my ram as it doesn't show up in the memory support list on the manufacturers website:
http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Awards/Mo...ProductID=2631 I have a 1GB stick of G.Skill DDR2 PC2-6400 800MHz.

Re: Incompatible ram?
Can you rearrange the way the power is distributed to the various components, you may be overloading one of the 3 rails and underutilizing another. Max draw from any one rail cannot exceed 20A, so if you have the videocard and HDD's on one rail it may be too much during startup, if that fails, follow the directions in the bench testing link below to isolate which component may be giving trouble.

Re: Incompatible ram?
I have the same board and the same problem, you will find that if you remove the CMOS battery and use the jumpers to clear the bios it will post. The longer you leave the battery out the longer it will stay up without locking up.
I rma'd my board and am waiting for it to come back
