ram problem

Hi Guys need some help please

my friend has a foxconn p4m800p7mb and has just got two 1gig ram cards
if you put them in one at a time they work, if you put them in slot one or two

but if you put them in together the pc will not boot

could there be a fault with the mb

It could be the fault of the motherboard (RAM SLOTS) I had a problem like this> one of the slots was not working but the other one was working.
My pc was resetting all the time if I use both of the slots. and it failed a MEMTEST86 as well with a lot of errors.

Try a http://www.memtest.org/

i can use any of the slots sepritly it is onle when i try and use both slots that the pc will not boot

what is your system specs??? CPU, PSU, RAM,Graphics.... maybe they are just not compatible with each other

and If you have time test each one of them on http://www.memtest.org/ maybe one of them is faulty or with some errors .

they have just been bought and are from the same manufacturer and the same spec

it has a p4 cpu 3ghs , 300w psu Graphics 256m 6200 and had 512k ram

hmm probably it's the motherboard then. it could not handle both of the rams at the same time, the problem is the one of the slots I think ...
