Did I break it?

Hi!
Someone gave our school an old computer with 256 DDR RAM. I scavenged a couple old 128 RAM cards and put those in, but the computer failed to boot. I removed the two cards and the machine booted up - or sounds like it is at least. But there is nothing showing on the screen (the power light doesn't even go on, although the screen changes color slightly). I tried a different monitor and cable, but same result. Any idea if I broke something? Rather broad question, I realize, but I don't know where to start. I removed and reinserted the video card, but nothing changed. Any clues? Thanks!

unplug it, destatic yourself, remove the battery for 20 minutes..then try it again.

Re: Did I break it?

It's a desktop, not a laptop. Do you mean unplug it, or am I missing something? Thanks!

Inside the PC, you'll find a battery on the motherboard. It looks like a watch battery, but it's about the size of nickel.

What's the make and model of the PC?
