Does this upgrade make sense? (+recommendation on PSU?)

Hello there,

This is my current system
CPU: Pentium 4 CPU 3.2GHz
Motherboard: Asus P5AD2 Deluxe
Memory: 1 Gb DDR ram
Video Card: Ati Radeon x700 Pro
PSU: NeoPower ATX12V v2.0 (either model NEO380 or NEO480 I'm not sure)
OS: Windows XP

I want to make the following upgrades:
Video Card: xfx geforce 8800 GT
Memory: 2(or 3...)Gb DDR2 PC2-8500 Crucial Ballistix RAM
PSU: a new PSU (though I'm not sure which one I should get)

Does this upgrade make sense for my current system or does anyone have any suggestions?

My motherboard can take a max of ddr2 pc2-8500 ram so i was going for this, but would it be safe to go for a lower speed?

Finally any suggestions on PSU change?

I appreciate your help

I would go for an antec trio 650 thats probably the least amount of cash it will take to run that card

I would get 2gb (lower clocked) dual channel ram as your fsb will bottleneck you with any faster ram

Yes thats what you are going to see the most gaming gain from.

Thanks for your valuable insight, 1 g0t 0wn3d. Would you suggest something like DDR2-667?

and if I am willing to spend on my PSU, would you suggest any other model?

Re: Does this upgrade make sense? (+recommendation on PSU?)

Yes 667 will be good even for the 1333 fsb cpus (i believe yours is 800)
And a better psu would be a thermaltake thoughpower 750 watt (toughpower only from thermaltake) not sure if they are in canada though.
Another very high quallity one is the pc power and cooling silencer 750 watt
