Re: c000021a Unknown Hard Error (and many more)
RolodeX, did you manage to track down what was causing your trouble? I'm suffering through almost the exact same set of issues as you, even down to the inability of the system to create a memory.dmp file.
I've run through:HDTune (which doesn't show health status, though, even though I have SMART enabled in BIOS), MemTest, chkdsk, virus scanners (Sophos on this unit, multiple online virus checkers). Tried three different BIOS versions. The pattern is that an application I'm working in (could be Firefox, IE, Word, VS Studio 2k5, Outlook, any app really) will lock; in short order the entire system will lock, followed by blue screen. The most recent stop error codes were "c0000021a Unknown Hard Error" and 000000F4. As mentioned, no memory dump is created, and the system log merely notes that the system shutdown was unexpected. I'm at my wit's end. Hope that someone can help. Re: c000021a Unknown Hard Error (and many more)
Just a followup post for the benefit of those who might find this thread via a web search. My problems were resolved by setting my RAM back to 667mhz and also changing trc in the BIOS to 28 (much hanks to suggestion by "The Ram Guy"
over at Corsair's HouseofHelp web site.)
