2x1GB DDR vs. 3GB SDR performance
Hi there,
I am looking into upgrading my system memory on my R60. Currently I have one Dimm of DDR2 Ram installed. My question would be, what will give me greater performance: another identical 1GB module, creating an actual DDR System, or a 2GB module, giving me 50% more memory on a single data rate system? Thanks folks! S |

Re: 2x1GB DDR vs. 3GB SDR performance
Hello, and welcome to the TSF. Since the R60 supports running your memory in dual channel mode, running 2 matched modules of memory would be best, imho. You could run into compatability issues when using two miss matched modules and instability due to XP's limitation of utilizing a max of 3.25-3.5 gigs of memory....3 gigs could cause issues. To find compatible memory see Crucial's website and use their memory advisor to find what will work in your system
