RAM upgrade help
I currently have a Dell Latitude D600 with 1GB (2 - 512MB sticks) of factory RAM. The memory is rated at 333 MHz (PC2700), DDR SDRAM. I'd like to upgrade to the max 2GB RAM for this computer, but I'm not clear on compatibility with different speeds. When buying new memory for this system, do I have to stay with the PC2700 or can I buy faster memory? If I can go with faster memory, is there a limit?
Sorry if I didn't supply enough info for this, but memory is one area I'm not real familiar with. Please let me know if any other info is needed. Thank you in advance for any help. |

Re: RAM upgrade help
So when you say it will just lower itself to 333MHz, does that mean that buying PC3200 is pointless as it will only run at the PC2700 speed? Or will buying the PC3200 actually run faster than if I bought PC2700?
EDIT: Sorry, didn't see the 2nd reply there. |
