$5 more you get this
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817341002

you cant overpower a system so i would recommend getting it as it allows future gpu upgrades etc.

Re: Looking to buy new PSU

Is there anything wrong with that 600W OCZ? All i want it for is too maybe upgrade to Vista and add 1GB ram because all i play is Half Life 2 and its variants.

Re: Looking to buy new PSU

I don't recommend the OCZ 600 watt, but the OCZ 700 watt is excellent. Also, stay AWAY from any Thermaltake EXCEPT the "Thermaltake Toughpower" series.

Here are a couple of other great options for you to look at and the cost is about the same as you were looking at. If you can order while ZipZoomFly has them on backorder (might be a few days to be back in stock), you might get a $20 rebate on the Corsair. NewEgg most likely also has them and they are both top-of-the-line supplies:

Antec Trio 550

http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Produc...uctCode=273506

Corsair 550

http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Produc...tCode=10006757

Might be a good idea to call them and see about any rebate.

Re: Looking to buy new PSU

Any differences between those two you posted? I might just get the Antec Trio since its in stock now and i've been letting my PSU problem slide for about 3 months now. Also any idea where i can find http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835999104 and http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835888309 on that website since ima order from them most likely.

Re: Looking to buy new PSU

Either one is a GREAT power supply. I didn't find the other exact items on the website. However if you will look, Newegg most likely has both power supplies at a similar price, so you could just get it all there.

Re: Looking to buy new PSU

an inadaquate PSU can result in low frame rates

the Antec Basiq is NOT a decent power supply

you NEED at least 500 watts / 550 Watts

antec trio / coolermaster Real Power Pro (only the pro) / corsair HX 520 /
