Memory upgrade
My computer is currently running with 512 mb memory. I would like to upgrade to 1GB by adding another 512mb stick. My question is, as the current memory is 4 years old could I expect any conflict between the old and new sticks? I might add that I have run an online scan to ensure that any memory I purchase is compatible. Any advice appreciated.

Re: Memory upgrade
Just make sure to get the same type of memory with the same specs and i believe that you should be fine with your upgrade. Just make sure that you have an empty space for the new memory and even less of a problem since the two sticks of memory will be the same, also just make sure that your mother board can handle 1GB of memory, but i think that it is new enough to support at least that, other than that, be careful installing, the new memory, and while doing it clean the computer out with some compressed air and don't force the new memory in too much, they can be a little tough so dont be afraid either.
Also, you can simple look your computer or your motherboard up online and just make sure that that you get the same results as the scan you did just in case the scan happen to make a mistake |
