[SOLVED] RAM Compatibility Issues?

Well this problem isn't new, I fixed this problem when I bought 2GB Dual channel OCZ 6400 crossfire when I had to switch around the slots for the computer to boot up.

The current problem is when I bought a new 2GB Dual Channel 6400 Mushkin EM2 I found out that putting them in the motherboard causes the computer too not boot up again. Then I tried putting the RAM in different slots and various different order along with the other modules. Still the computer won't start.

When I tried putting on this configuration, it worked when I putted the individual modules in the different colored slots:

Slot 1- OCZ
Slot 2- none
Slot 3- Mushkin
Slot 4- none

(and vice versa)

but,

Slot 1- OCZ
Slot 2- Mushkin
Slot 3- OCZ
Slot 4- Mushkin

did not work, I suppose I had to put them into the according color codes for the different dual channels to work. Now I'm just confused. Any tips? Thanks guys.

Re: RAM Compatibility Issues?

When trying to run in dual mode you need to stick with the same
brand and speed of ram, rarely you can mix and get away with it.
Its a crap shoot even with 4 sticks all the same brand and speed,
your better off with a pair, odds of success is higher.

Re: RAM Compatibility Issues?

I luckily managed to get another pair of the OCZ RAM for a third of the price off on ebay. I'll probably end up returning the mushkin, despite favoring them alittle more.

Thanks for the support.
