NMI: Parity check/ memory parity error
first off the edxact message i'm getting is...
***Hardware Malfunction Call your hardware vendor for support NMI: Parity check / Memory Parity Error *** The system has halted*** my specs are.. Pentium 4 3.2 ghz Windows XP SP2 2 1gb sticks of Super Talent DDR2-667 Nvidia 6800 Sound Blaster XtremeMusic I've had this problem for about a month now and everything i've done hasn't fixed anything... i figured the problem had to do with my ram since i had some fairly new ram put in it (the Super Talent sticks) so i sent it off for a replacement.. in the meantime i put back the 2 256mb Samsung ram sticks that worked without problems since i bought my comp back in 2004.. but the same error keeps popping up.. then when i got the new sticks of super talent it also didn't change anything... this is where i'm stuck.. and now anytime i need to re-start my computer it could take hours to get it back on because i keep getting the error message... any help would be EXTREMELY appreciated as i'm pretty much clueless at this point... |
