[SOLVED] Quick RAM question
Hey again.
I was just wondering, when installing new RAM does it have to be the same type as the RAM already installed, or any particular type or can you just by any pair of 1gb RAM cards and install them? and if they have to be any particular type can someone tell me what type of RAM cards my PC would allow me to install? Here are the current RAM card's stats: (Im running a Dell Dimension 9150) I have two 256mb RAM cards, both like this: http://img408.imageshack.us/img408/9...titled1vt7.jpg Thanks in advance. |

Re: Quick RAM question
always try to match your existing RAM with any possible RAM you buy. If you can't get from the same manufacturer with the same stats, then get something which is as similar as possible.
If you are intending to replace the current RAM, you may get whatever you like but always get the same characteristics ie make sure that it's compatible with your motherboard a quick search brought me here take a a look and then look for a deal that will suit your pocket

Re: Quick RAM question
Thankyou, all sorted now, much appreciated.
EDIT: this is probably an extremely stupid question but when a store sells RAM and it says "1GB" does it mean a SINGLE RAm card of 1GB or 2 512MB cards that total 1GB. Thanks. Last edited by Azwethinkweiz; 08-12-2007 at 01:16 PM. |
