[SOLVED] dvdrom not working after the power supply replacement
hello,
i hope something similar wasnt posted before, because i didnt search all the threads, so i apologize for inconvenience if it was. now my problem that needs help is: I replaced power supply in my PC, running XP, i connected it correctly i think since it work when i powered it on and all, but the problem is when i tried to burn some dvds in nero, no dvd recorder got recognized. now I am wondering is it possible that i have to reinstall and if so, how come the xp didnt recognize it, since there were no changes made in the setup. all the nero recognizes is image recorder eventhough i have 1 dvdrom and 1 cdrom installed and connected. Is it possible that i connect it wrong ( i believe in that case they wouldnt even work, right ) thank you for your answers and help. regards |

Re: dvdrom not working after the power supply replacement
try uninstalling and reinstalling nero.
do you have your dvd burner pinned as master, with the 80 wire ribbon cable going to ide 2 on the motherboard?

Re: dvdrom not working after the power supply replacement
i will reinstall it, but the thing is they are not shown even in system settings in control panel, cant tell if its 80 wire ribbon cable, because i am currently not at home, but as i remembered there were like 2 cables that fitted perfectly so i just connected them one to each dvd ( a little newbie talk , sorry )

Re: dvdrom not working after the power supply replacement
I think speedster means that it takes a veeeery long time for the picture to start and finish the download. I've shrunk it:
