[SOLVED] Damm Ram

Mobo--> http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.as...K8Upgrade-1689

Well having 512MB ram really sucks so I went out and brought another 512MB ram, I have installed 512MB DDR1 in the first slot of the PC.

Today I brought a 512MB DDR1, I wasn't sure is I needed DDR1 or DDR2 to put in the remaining slot, so I brought DDR1.

So I put both ram in, (Different makes, One Corsair and other Kingston) they show up as 256MB when it should be 1024MB

Is it the Mobo?, this can hold a max of 2GB so it says on the Asrock site, or do I need a DDR2 512MB ram card to put in the second slot??

Thanks for any help.

Re: Damm Ram

512MB, Ok I just tried to install it again and on the BIOS screen it says 1028MB when I put The Kingston in the first slot and Corsiar in the second and when i do it the other way round it says 256MB.

When its on 1028MB it wont load windows, keeps going round in circles, boot loop.
