Power Supply Fan
My fan has stopped working on my power supply is there a way that I can replace just the fan and not the whole power supply since I can not seem to find one the dimension that I have so all that I can find are too big. I have a HP Pavilion 525C-ATX AMD Athlon 2600+.........Power supply is 200watts

Re: Power Supply Fan
Hello and Welcome to TSF.
This is a direct replacement for your power supply. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817104903 I'm pretty sure this one will fit also and is a better unit. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...9255&body=MAIN Last edited by mattlock; 08-04-2007 at 04:49 PM. |

Re: Power Supply Fan
most of the time when a PSU fan quits its because the component inside the PSU that delivers power to the fan has died
a few times I have been successful replacing a power supply fan it is however dangerous even if you unplug the power cord to the PSU the unit can have static built up DC voltage that you will not appreciate if you are a VERY mechanically inclined person and comfortable working around "live" power you "could" do it however, I am not a big fan of reccomending it. I dont mess with them anymore myself, not worth the hassle, especially when 50% of the time after fan replacment the fan still wont run! I have seen people COBB a fan to PSU to push air thru it, this would be a better approach then entering the unit in my opinion
