have 1.5 gb of ram but am i getting the most out of it?
Hi i just recently got a 1gb ddr2 ram card to add to my 512 mb one, so now i have 1.5 gb of ram, the only thing is i feel like im not getting the most out of it, some programs open up alot faster like Microsoft word, but i heard of this program called speed up my pc, and saw some good reviews but i cant seem to figure out how it works is it by over clocking? also is it safe for my computer, can it harm it in anyway?

Well, yes you probably are getting the most of it if you say an increase in performace
and speed up my pc is a waste of time windows has all the appopriate apps to increase performance and overclocking ram isn't the best idea if your new to overclocking overall

you cant be running in dual channel mode if you have two mismatched sticks of ram
you can download cpu-z if you want to (free) then go to the memory tab from within the cpu-z program and look in the uppr right side of the report >>>> it should say single channel mode which is not as good with performance as dual channel mode dual channel needs two identical sticks to make a matched pair like 2 x one gig sticks >>>> then sell of the old 512 on ebay make sure you buy the exact same stick of one gig as you already have http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php
