Brand New PSU

Yes i just got this PSU within the hour, and i'm 100% its better than my last one, but it has the same voltage stats as before, how come?

All of them are fine though except the 12+ volts/10.(43-50)

On the box it says dual 12 volt

Re: Brand New PSU

i didn't see "pc health status" but i went to hardware monitor. It it had bizarre results. Temps were both over 50 C Celsius my fans were "apparently" going at 195 RPM and all my volts were under 5-4.

In everest and sensorsview pro i have over 3500 RPM and only 30-40 C Celsius.

Re: Brand New PSU

the results from the other 2 seem more accurate and if you are running with no problem i agree with what was posted previously
don't worry about it

how many case fans do you have

where in the case are the located

what direction is the air being moved by each fan (intake or exaust)

Re: Brand New PSU

well normally my computer has 2 general fans and 1 fan in the PSU. The 2 generals ones are : 1 in the back blowing air in and 1 on the motherboard like a metal grille blowing air in the grille. and the last fan my dad attached on the left side, except the left side of my computer we left open to give it more air, so the last fan doesn't do much.

Re: Brand New PSU

thought so

the PSU fan and cpu fan (grille looking one) cant be counted in your cooling air flow set-up >>>>> they have their own jobs to do!

you should have a fan at the rear of the computer exausting air out of the computer

you should have a fan at the front of the computer box bringing air into the box

get fans that match the size of the perforated grill holes >>>> they will be either 80mm or 120mm fan mounting locations

80mm = 3.1 inches

120mm = 4.7 inches

when buying fans make sure you buy high rpm fans >>>> good 80mm case fans should spin at over 3,000 rpms

good 120mm fans should spin at 2850 rpms

case fans are cheap >>>> they will also save your computer from alot of abuse, especially the new PSU >>>>>> the psu fan gets its "frsh" air from inside the computer box! if that air is hot already then you are cooking your PSU for nothing!

your hard drive temps should be about 35C / 40C max the 40C only if you live in texas or arizona where its super hot !!

Re: Brand New PSU

Re: Brand New PSU

also regarding room temperatures, here in british colombia we've hit over 40 degrees, my computer has never gone to the 50 mark so..(that was before i got a/c)

Also computer temps also depend where you are in the house, i keep my blinds closed most of the day, but if my room was jsut exposed to the sun all day i would hit much either temps, and size of room matters too, my room is just medium size so its not a big air circulation.

but none the less i'll ask my dad to install some new fans

Re: Brand New PSU

youre correct ><>>>>> if your computer room is 40C then you cant really expect it to run real cool

the temps are not real high, but I would run your system with a small house fan blowing into it >>>>> I often do this when I want to do some extreme overclocking in the summer months
