Ram question
What does PCXXXX spec on ram mean? (like PC2100 or PC2700 etc)
does this number correspond to the speed of the cpu in mgz (i.e core speed)? i also see rams classified as ddr400 or ddr333, what do those denote? is it the bus speed of the mother board? |

Re: Ram question
With SD and RD RAM, the PC classification refered to its speed in MHz. With DDR and DDR2 RAM, it refers to its bandwidth in MB/s.
With DDR and DDR2 RAM, the DDR classification refers to the effective speed in MHz. Remember, bandwidth is more important than speed. Speed is only one factor that determines bandwidth. Bus width also determines bandwidth.
