PS problem?

I think my computer has a problem in its power supply, i need confirmation.
It has an ATX12V PS in it that, I believe, is defective in some way. It was running one day for about 15 minutes, at which point it just shut off.
Is there any other reason this might have happened?

Re: PS problem?

high CPU temps can make auto shutdowns

but most of the time, its a bum PSU (especailly if you spent less than $80.00) on your PSU !!

it was the OEM PSU with a 1.8 GHz Intel P4 socket 478. does that tell you anything? also, the PSU was rated for 300 watts.

Re: PS problem?

if the PSU was original with the 1.4 CPU then it has enough age to want an eternal nap

try another PSU
