Need help with RAM upgrade

I have 256 ram available memory on my Toshiba Notebook A15S129. Since my recent spyware upgrade needs all of this to run, my computer is struggling. I was told I needed to add as much workspace ram as my computer can support. How do I get this information on my computer? How do I go about upgrading? I was told i should add 2 GB. I'm not too computer savy, and could take it into a shop for the upgrade, but if it's something a non-computer geek could do successfully, I'd like to give it a try. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Need help with RAM upgrade

Well after searching for your laptop's memory abilities, I have found it has a Max memory of 1GB and 2 memory slots. So you will only be able to put two 512MB sticks of RAM in at the most. It's got to be SODIMM memory (laptop memory, its slightly smaller than normal RAM), and DDR-266 (PC-2100).

This is the sort of thing you are looking for. Once you have the RAM it is a simple case of removing the RAM cover, on most laptops should be directly on the bottom, with a screw in it, taking out the existing RAM and slotting the new stuff in.
