Newly installed Ram
System is a HP754n with following memory specs:
RAM (installed) 512 / PC2100 DDR HP approved maximum memory 1 GB Speed supported PC2100 / PC1600 Type DDR SDRAM DIMM slots Two Open slots One Purchased and installed the following non name brand module: 512mb PC2100 DDR at 266 MHz PC266 DDR266 CL2.5 184 pin Dimm, 64x64 module (for desktop PC) Non ECC, Unbuffered, Non registered Computer is experiencing boot loops, browsers freezing and unexpected system shutdowns. I've also had some malware problems recently, that I thought I had resolved. Could this be more malware or memory issues? |

Re: Newly installed Ram
Of the two , memory is more likely the culprit. If you take out the new 512 module and the problems disappear, then you know for sure. Try that and see what happens. Also, try taking out the original 1gb and just use the 512 and see what happens. Post back with your results.
