Welcome To TSF, Yes you can upgrade your RAM to 533, all that is same as the PC 4200,+ is just the speed of it, of course the higher the better. Have a nice day ![]() Jay. |

You may run into compatibilty issues running different speed rams together, but as long as the 533 ram you buy is backward compatible to 400, which it should be, your chances are pretty good that it'll work.
The 533 ram will only at 400 speed however. The system can only be as fast as it's slowest component. |

Hello Jay, there are several programs that will give you alot of system info. Everest Home Edition, SisoftSandra, PCwizard to name a few. I don't think any of them will tell you what the max ram speed is, but they'll usually give you enough info to help you find out. Once you know the make and model number of the motherboard you do a google search to find the info on it or go to the manufacturers website to find info.
