Are many compatiable???

I upgraded once a few years back, but with technology growing, I think it is time to do it again.

I've got a Dell Dimension 4600 and currently have 2 sticks of 256 and 2 sticks of 128......but since I forgot the specs/type I need on the RAM, I scanned at Crucial and got this:

Maximum Memory Capacity: 4096MB
Currently Installed Memory: 768MB
Available Memory Slots: 0
Number of Banks: 4
Dual Channel Support: No
CPU Manufacturer: GenuineIntel
CPU Family: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.40GHz Model 2, Stepping 9
CPU Speed: 2394 MHz

with the recommended RAM Package: Module Size: 1GB kit (512MBx2)
Package: 184-pin DIMM
Feature: DDR PC3200
Specs: DDR PC3200 • CL=3 • UNBUFFERED • NON-ECC • DDR400 • 2.6V • 64Meg x 64

http://www.crucial.com/store/mpartsp...1EC373A5CA7304

There are bigger sticks, but I think 1gb would be sufficient for my purposes.

SO.....with that being said, would ANY pc3200 work???? Like this??? PNY® 512MB PC3200/2700 Desktop Memory. It is on sale for $40/stick at Comp USA. The thing that is throwing me off is the 2700...I am guessing it is just a second compatiablility thing...but just want to be sure!

Thanks:)

Re: Are many compatiable???

This will work, and it's good memory.

Re: Are many compatiable???

I normally strongly suggest getting a dual channel kit where dual channel memory is used. I also do not suggest PNY memory since their warranty tactics are deceiving.
