Coolermaster 430w PSU
Hello Everyone!!!
Thanks for the welcome Jason and for the tip chauffeur2. I think I am going to love this site. I can only write a quick line as I have to head off to work. I would like to ask any expert here just a quick question: Will my Coolermaster 430w be capable of running an ASUS 7600GS AGP 8X card? Any helpful advice will be very much appreciated as I hope to get one this week once I finish work. It appears to have dual 12v rail outputting 14A and 15A respectively. If I can't use a 7600GS, what can I use? eg 7300GT, 6800GS, 6600GT? Cheers Lucky Jack

Re: Coolermaster 430w PSU
Hi Jack, and welcome to TSF!
![]() It should be able to handle it even with a fairly powerful PSU, however Cooler Master only has a few good quality PSUs, so I would not put too much load on that PSU. Anything more than the 7600GS would probably be too much.

Re: Coolermaster 430w PSU
if you upgrade both the cpu to 3.0ghz and the 7600GS I would look to a decent 550 watt PSU
like the Antec Trio rail 550 watt the passive coolermaster 430 isnt gonna like that load

Re: Coolermaster 430w PSU
I too would recommend a good 550 watt power supply or you will just have to do it later when you upgrade. I agree with TheMatt that it might handle it, but you will be very close to the edge with the components that you want to use with it. A 7600GS would tax that that particular Coolermaster. My opinion would be to erase the doubt and get a more powerful PSU now so you know it will do the job for you.
