Short?
I turned on my computer like normal then i put in a bootable windows xp intall disk and held in the button to restart it then in the middle of the loading screen it just turned off and would not come back on I have identified that something is wrong with my motherboard because when i disconect the powersuply cord from it the little green light on the back turns on and when i connect it when i plug the power back in the green light flashes then stays off. I took the bater out of the motherboard to see if it made any difference and it did when all the connectors were connected and i plugged it in the green light stayed on but if i tried to turn it on via the power switch it would go off immediately.

Re: Short?
Hi,
Could you please explain why you restarted the computer by pressing the power switch and why you had the Windows CD in the drive. Did you try to perform a repair install? The green light phenomenon doesn't make any sense (at least not to me) - please explain it again. Is this a new computer? Post the system specifications - motherboard, RAM, processor, power supply, video card etc. Nicholas |
