Power Supply [Resolved]
I did some research on the Nvidia website and they recommend a PSU with a 12v28A (think i may of miss read the article) to run a 8800...
This is my current PSU............................. 680watts +5v 30A, +3.3v 28A, +12v1 14A, +12v2 23A, +12v3 15A, -12v 0.5A, -5VSB 2.5A Will this be enough power or will i need a new PSU. Current things im running off the motherboard....... 1 AMD Athlon 64 x2 4600+ 4 1gb RAM 2 SATA HDD 1 ATA HDD 1 ATA CD/DVD 2 USB's Mouse/Keyboard 2 PCI-E graphic cards (they will be gone when i buy the 8800) 1 PCI wireless network adapter 1 PCI TV Tuner card 1 120mm fan 1 80mm fan On-Board LAN On-Board sound Thanks

Well I am no expert with figuring out voltages and requirements but I would suggest a more powerful PSU personally, even if it did manage to run, IMHO it is right at the bottom end and as such will not be doing your system any justice, and if it isn't strong enough it could take system components with it.
You also don't say what make your PSU is, for what you want to run you need a good reliable PSU, I'd imagine even a 750w PSU will be on the low side, I would suggest biting the bullet and getting one of the 1kw units or even 1100w units, it may seem excessive to you now, but given you may wish to add another card in the future, or even upgrade to something more powerful, it will see you in good stead without having to shell out again in the near future, hope this helps. |

Yeah I would say definitely if you plan on another graphics card, the 2 units I would suggest personally are the one I have in my spec, or the Tagan 1100w one, both would serve you nicely and be capable of your adding a second card when your ready.
