computer crash
I own an e-machines t5048 with 512mb ddr sdramn Intel pentium 4 processor 524,3.06 ghz /533 mhz fsb/1 mb l2 cache. I recently purchased a 1gb ddr400 pc 3200 184 pin memory card(this was recomended by a tech rep at comp usa)I installed the memory and since then I'm having these problems: suddenly after a few minutes the screen saver is on, the machine restarts i get a message saying that the machine had a serious error;when I try to shut it down it says thet the debugger is not installed;when I try to run nortom system works it sends me a message saying that the symantec system integrator has encountered a problem and it has to close, i ran the anti-virus and it's clean. I hace tried to run windows memory diagnostics but I can't when I try to use cdburn.exe i tells me there's an error opening the file, finally, the fan makes horrible sounds, everytime we are working on the pc you can hear it sloww and then it seems to go faster then slows down and so on, the noise is too loud, please I hace tried to do what I can to fix my pc but it's no use thank you

Re: computer crash
First thing take out the new ram and see if the computer is back to normal. Then if all is well remove the current ram and install the new and see how it works, sometime ram sticks from two different manufactuers don't play well together.
Report back what happens and we will go from there. As far as the fan, can you tell what fan is making this noise? Check that the cpu heatsink is not clogged with dust |

Re: computer crash
THANK YOU FOR THE HELP,TRE PROBLEM WITH THE FAN IS SOLVED ,IT WAS DIRTY. I TRIED WORKING WITH THE 1GB MEMORY FIRST ,IT ALL WENT RIGHT UNTIL I TRIED TO SHUT IT OFF, THEN I GOT THESE MESSAGES:
REMIND_XP.EXE_APPLICATION ERROR the instruction at "0x004242e9" referenced memory at "0x00000004".The memory could not be "read". Click ok to terminate the program I CLICKED OK AND I GOT THIS MESSAGE: DW20.EXE_DLL INITIALIZATION FAILED The application failed to initialize because the window station is shutting down I CLICKED OK AGAIN, THEN: CCC.EXE_ NO DEBUGGER FOUND No registered JIT debugger was specified Click on retry to have the process wait while attaching a debugger manually. Click on cancel to abort the JIT debug request I CLICKED RETRY AND THEN THE COMPUTER SHUT DOWN. IF IT HELPS I TRIED TO INSTALL A DEBUGGER FROM THE SYMANTEC WEB PAGE BUT IT WON'T INSTALL, WHEN I TRY TO RUN THE SymLogOn.reg it tells me :cannot import c:\documents and settings...:error accessing the registry WHEN I TRIED TO WORK WITH THE 512 MB MEMORY ONLY,BEFORE GETTING TO THE WINDOWS SCREEN, I GOT A BLACK SCREEN WITH WHITE LETTERS TELLING ME THAT WINDOWS COULD NOT START BECAUSE THERE WAS EITHER A PROBLEM WITH THE POWER SUPPLY OR WITH A DEVICE, IT GAVE 4 OPTIONS TO CLICK, ONE WAS RESTART THE PC TO A CONFIGURATION WHEN IT WORKED GOOD OR SAFE MODE AND A COUPLE MORE I DON'T REMEMBER. I TRIED THEM 4 BUT THE PC KEPT ON GIVING ME THE SAME SCREEN. I PUT BACK THE 1 GB MEMORY WITH THE 512MB AND IT WORKED BUT I ALWAYS GET THE MESSAGES I TOLD ABOVE, HELP PLEASE |

Try this:
