Re: Ddr Dimm

Check out www.crucial.com for seaching for the right memory by computer model.

DIMM - desktop (longer)
SODIMM - laptop (shorter)
Types of RAM are SD (not to be confused with DDR-SD), DDR, DDR2, etc. These are dependent on your motherboard and the modules have different pins.

By the sounds of it you are trying to install desktop ram in a laptop.

Re: Ddr Dimm

Okay sounds like SODIMM laptop ram then. Note that if the stick you are installing (DDR) does not match up with the RAM type of your laptop they will not be compatible. You can tell by the little notch in the ram and the motherboard if they don't line up as well as not being recognized in bios. Hope that site helps, if not you should post your laptop model and/or Everest report.

Re: Ddr Dimm

I can't verify the motherboard specs. I tried finding the e-systems website for specs but came up empty, must be a small company. Based on the partial report you listed, so far there shouldn't be any reason why it wouldn't fit.

Could you be more specific on your fitment problem (too big, small, wide, skinny, pins dont line up, etc)?

Re: Ddr Dimm

it was like a CM to big, and on the report it said there is 4 slots a could only see one, but there is two compartmeants you can take out and i only touched one, so i'll give it another try, and the slot i tried it in, the ram is double sided with the pins but the slot only had one side with pics, there was literally about a centimetre maybe less betweenit fitting lol

Re: Ddr Dimm

Do you have access to a digital camera? Taking a pic of the module(s) and slots could help.

Have you ever opened up a laptop before? It could be you are trying to put it somewhere non-ram. How to install ram link.

Usually there are several compartments you can open in a laptop; ram, hdd, etc. The ram slots are about 2" long and can sometimes have 2 right on top of eachother. You have to go ~45* to the slot, slide in, push down til it is secure.
