Re: Ram speeds
also
read the reviews before you buy these modules http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145590 You probably will have to relax the timings manually before booting |

Re: Ram speeds
I'd stay with your first choice. Solid. Little expensive but well worth it IMO. I have the LED version.

Re: Ram speeds
Looking at the price/performance/quality/future proof, this is what I would get for sure: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145590
Your system will run according to according to the FSB. |

Re: Ram speeds
Just wondering about your overclock, are you using a software program,. or did you find an unlocked BIOS, as HP locks thier BIOS so you cannot overclock your cpu at least..
As for Ram, it will always help to buy the highest rated ram, your board can take. This will take the pressure off if you do overclock.. Like Instead of PC 400 I have pc 533 so I can overclock even higher without my ram stopping me

Re: Ram speeds
You will not benefit from DDR2-800 MHz RAM very much even on a Core 2 Duo machine, with the 1066 MHz FSB the best RAM you can get is DDR2-533 MHz in a dual channel pair. I would get that RAM for your computer.
I don't think you can overclock that computer since the BIOS is locked. You might be able to do it via software.
