Re: RAM Upgrade
I should work, but some motherboards are picky about the ram they'll take and on top of the two sticks of ram may not like playing together.
Try the new stick of ram in the PC by itself, if it doesn't work it's likely a bad stick of ram. You could also try resetting the CMOS with both sticks installed and see it that works. |

Re: RAM Upgrade
I tried it with just the new stick in both slots and neither slots would work with it. i dont have another DDR2 box to try it on lol would make it easier. would it be worth trying to reset the CMOS if the RAM wont even work by itself?

Re: RAM Upgrade
Probably not. Is the Kingston ram new? If so, and he bought it from a local retailer return or exchange it. If he got from a E-tailer he'll need to RMA it. If it's not new it has a lifetime warranty from Kingston, he could try RMAing through them.
Do you happen to have the exact model number of the ram? If so post it here. I'd like to check and see if it's listed as approved ram for the system. |

This is the only ram Kingston lists for that model PC, but doesn't mean no other model will work. You may have just gotten a bad stick. Try exchanging it and if the new stick doesn't work then it's a compatibilty issue. Post back and let me how you are progressing. New Pair on Ebay. Auction ends on the 17th.
