upgrading RAM, help needed

Ok, I need to up my RAM and I have no idea if it is DDR or DDR2. I can take my case and whatnot apart to check but will there be anything that will let me know ON the RAM stick?

Easier to download Everest (free edition), it will tell you type and maximum amount supported by the MOBO.

If you don't want to download and run everest. Just provide me with the Brand and Model Number of your motherboard including any suffixes like, deluxe, premium ,etc. I'll get back to you with the information you are requesting.

SMZ - thanks, but this was a $100 computer from fry's that ran linux and I had to convert it to Lindows XP.

Scotty - I'm gonna d/l and try that program! Thanks!

You could also go to crucial or corsair's website and try there memory configuator, it will tell you what ram is best for your system and they guarantee it to work

Maybe that little corsair program is a better idea. I only say that cuz everest is pretty complex... Geez when I think of those cheap fry's computers, I almost want to think it's SDRAM. What CPU speed is in that think or is it one of those proprietary VIA C3 CPU's?

When you click on the memory part of it, it will say trial version and not show you the data, so if you click report at the top and select hardware, get it in HTML format, and go down to the memory modules section, where it will tell you the info.
