Hello i am light!!
This is my first thread in your forum... I have a motherboard that has 4 slots for the memory.. The slots uses dual channell technology... The first/Third slots are the first channell The Second/Forth slots are the second channell I have already put two memory Dimms on first/third slots The dimms that i put are DDRI333( 166MHz ) 512MB In order to increase the total memory up to 2GByte it is advisable to buy another two dimms DDRI at 333( 166MHz ) ( second channell ) or can i buy two dimms at different ( larger ) frequency?? for example >> Dimms at 400MHZ frequency?? The dimms of the two channells must have the same frequency? Last edited by light : 03-22-2007 at 05:27 AM. |

Re: Memory DDRI 333
If you buy new ones and put them in with the old ones, all modules will run at the slowest frequency, if you buy modules that have a higher frequency than the ones you now have then they will clock their speeds down to 166MHZ.

Re: Memory DDRI 333
Speedster is 100% correct. 2 x 1 GB is the best option. BTW, what socket/processor does this board use? You might be better off getting 2 x 1 GB of DDR 400 MHz.
