UPS suggestions
I am looking to get a UPS to make sure the voltage/power to my PSU is stable and in the rare event that I have a power outage.(there are no brown out here)
I just want a UPS that has AVR (auto voltage regulations) & is Line-interactive. I am looking at one of these four: Tripp Lite SmartPro APC CNB950 APC BR800BLK Ultra / ULT33044 I was leaning towards the TripLite (1000Vamps/500w/line-interactive/AVR) but the one at CompUsa claims more watts covered (with a less Vamp rating) but a It is unclear whether this model is "line interactive" And the price is nice for the Ultra at Tiger Direct but also is unclear if it is line-interacticve and what is ULTRA? The APC at NewEgg certainly is a well known name but is only 800Vamps but it also claims 540watts?? Anyone have any input?? Cheers |

Re: UPS suggestions
I prefer Cyberpower or Opti for UPSs. They both give you more for the money than TrippLite or APC. We have had good luck with them as far as reliability as well. Don't overlook them.

Re: UPS suggestions
The lower class and least desirable are with a simulated sine wave (square wave) output and the best class and perfectly stable being the sine wave output. Anything requiring clean, stable power, minimizing heat and wire stress with least fluctuations in voltages (ripple) should be protected by the electrical engineering and PSU industry recommended sine wave UPS.

Re: UPS suggestions
I'm running the Tripplite 1500lcd version of the one you listed with the setup listed under my name....no problems with it at all, well built, easy to set up and the software is easy to use. I'd also reccomend some outlet savers http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...694&CatId=1284
