The error log said

16 March 2007 McLogEvent MCSCAN32 Engine Initialisation failed. Engine returned error : The DAT files failed or are missing.
16 March 2007 Applicatio n Hang Hanging application rstrui.exe, version 5.1.2600.2180, hang module hungapp, version 0.0.0.0, hang address 0x00000000.

The dreaded blue screen came up and I dont think it specified a driver. Im really worried. This always happens when I install an update, yet Windows says the installing updates should help the problem please help!!!!!

Re: Problems with BIOS

Hi!
Seems like you're using McAfee anti-virus. Try disabling it when you need to install updates.

Yes I am.
Whenever I get windows updates, something crazy happens!
I have been installing Macfee updates recently too could this have caused the problems?
I have had these problems before but my ex fixed it by opening up the laptop itself and doing something with some card.. something to do with RAM.
As you can tell, this is blatantly not my forté or area of expertises.

Re: Problems with BIOS

I don't know McAfee - I use another anti-virus. Is it updates for McAfee you're trying to install? I thought it was Windows updates...
If you only get these errors when you try to install updates I really can't see why that should have anything to do with the RAM.

Its all very complex. Ive noticed that, yes it has been problems that have occured whenever i have tried to install Windows updates.
But recently Macfee has prompted me to install updates for it and then this error message has started again.Maybes it is mere coincidence
I have done a system restore which has combatted the issue for now I THINK.
The error message itself talks about BIOS updates and bad RAM so i dont know what to think.

What a mess eh?

I've had the bad_pool_caller one before. Then my ex fixed the computer and the problemseemed to disapear.

But this one is basically on about a driver I think. It specifies a driver (which I forgot to write down) and the next part is specifying a thing called

system32:lx32.sys _AA3FF5B3 base at..... (etc more letters that I hadnt time to write down

sorry to be so cryptic but I never got a chance to write all down.

Re: Problems with BIOS

I don't know that message and can't find anything like it on the net .
If you're patient, I'm sure one of the others here on the forum knows something about it.
