need help identifying a particular type of PSU

Hey guys. I need help identifying a particular type of PSU. It's the PSU that came standard with the IBM NetVista 6790-22U. It's 2x as long (going into the case) as a normal ATX PSU, and about half as wide. I think it may only be a 160w unit, but can't be entirely sure since I haven't found that on the PSU's label yet. I found the 160w number on the parts information page at IBM/Lenovo's website.

Anyway, I'd like to put a little more juice in this thing if I can. If you guys could help me identify this PSU, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

Is there a serial number on the PSU? Or any type of identification code, if so just google it and should find some information.

Re: need help identifying a particular type of PSU

I'll have to check. The label is in the worst spot to look at (inside facing inward, towards the expansion slots and covered by the video card), so I'll have to wait until I shut it down later. In the meantime, anyone know offhand what type of powersupply this might be? And maybe a replacement with more kick?

Can you take a picture? That would help.

Re: need help identifying a particular type of PSU

Your system is a small desktop model, right?
I think you have the small desktop model, the one thats lengthy but not tall in height and the PSU is in the left corner running down the side.. ?

The IBM site isn't helpful, stating 160watts, but I checked some guides I had for it at work and its a 160W PFC Hipro PSU.

Re: need help identifying a particular type of PSU

That's exactly the one Kalim, thanks! Actually, I was just going to post the same link as your second one there, with that little picture... but you beat me to it. That link says it's an ATX power supply, but the shape is different. Anyway, does anyone know of any other power supplies like that but with a higher power output?

Re: need help identifying a particular type of PSU

It was built to ATX12V specifications so yup, it can be pretty much many shapes as long as it conforms to that. How much room do you have in there? It doesn't look like much at all, like only something similar would fit.

If so, then get the approximate measurements of the PSU you have in there already and there should be something similar or smaller thats good going.

Re: need help identifying a particular type of PSU

I would need something of that physical size, or preferrably smaller. I have absolutely zero room to work with in there

Do you know of a site I could go to with size measurements and look up something similar?

Re: need help identifying a particular type of PSU

Here's one that WOULD work quite nicely:

http://3btech.net/pcsi250wauls.html

The only problem is, the power plug and screw holes don't line up. I could do some more modifying to the case, but I really want to avoid slicing this thing up anymore than I already have. My search continues... Have you guys found anything?

EDIT:

Dimensions

Height - 4"
Width - 3.3"
Depth - 8.25"

Height and Depth can be smaller, but the width needs to be the same I think. Maybe not, but the plug and screw holes need to line up at least.
