Re: ARGGH!! why is there beeping in my computer!
i'm confused. first, sensorview, does not detect fans or voltages. second, when i open game i can't see sensorview, but if i alt-tab i see it, but computer isn't beeping anymore, so the data is useless.
also i found this on another forum. someone had a problem very similar, and it turned out that their motherboard speaker was beeping because of overheating and they applied thermal paste and it stopped beeping. another person said "My problem was thermal related. I went ahead and disabled the internal beeping on thermal problems. Kept it like that for a few months then I replaced my heatsink and put new grease down. Problem solved." how do i disable beeping or put on paste or anything. i tried disabling beeping in registry, but it is still beeping. |

Re: ARGGH!! why is there beeping in my computer!
Does the beeping start as soon as you open a game or only after playing for a few minutes?
I think the alert might be originating from the Catalyst Control Center letting you know that your card is overheating. I can't say for because I don't have an ATI card but I know there's a card monitor built into the new Catalyst Control Center. I noticed in the pic you posted that you have a PCI card in the slot directly below the X850. Try removing the card as it is resticting the air flow to your X850. If you must have the PCI card, relocate it to the lowest PCI slot to give the X850 some breathing room. |
