My System

Computer Not identifying Part of Memory

I ahve recently upgrgraded my 1gb of RAM (2x512) to 4 gb of ram, the problem is is that the computer only says that i have 3 gb of RAM installed. i ran EVEREST Home Edition, and it identifies all 4gb but it says that there is only 3gb of memory installed. they are 4 1gb sticks of samsung memory. they are 400Mhz and -pc3200. i have the everest report on a file for you to look at. please try and help..iknow that the memory is compatable w/ my system...thanks ans please help..

is there any way to get the full 4gb showing? i am running a mad processor and windows vista ultimate..thanks and let me know...

Right click on my computer and see if you have the 32 bit or the 64 bit version of Vista installed.

it is the 32-bit version..that is all that i bought..i bought the oem 32-bit version..

would i get better performance if i left the 4gb in there or would it be better if i took one out to just make it 3gb total? i just want to get the most out of my memory....

Thus the reason for the memory limit.

64 bit would allow you to see all 4GB.
