RESOLVED Memory Compatability Question
Hello to all. I have a stick of Samsung 256 mb pc2700 ram installed on my Compaq presario desktop. I accidentaly ordered a stick of 512 mb pc3200 ddr 400 mhz instead of the pc 2700 ddr. My question is do you think this will be compatible with my 256 mb stick, or should I take out the 256 mb stick and install the 512 mb stick by itself? Thankyou guys for your help on this matter.
I appreciate it. |

They should work together, they will just run at 333 MHz instead of 400 MHz. If the motherboard is picky, though, then it might not like different module sizes. Be sure to put them in different channels.

If you only have 2 slots, you have no choice where to put the new one. If you have 3 or 4, put it in 2.
