Yes: http://www.hipergroup.com/English/pr...hpu-4b580.html

Its in two links I provided. One's here: http://reviews.****rig.com/power_sup...us_version.php
It was rated at 8/10 after testing.

This site censored the letters in the link so it was not opening. I still can't type them it won't let me. Replace the **** with these letters without the dash p-i-m-p

Thats your link then.

Here's the link that tested/rated it to 9.5/10: http://www.hardware-review.net/html/...rticle&sid=246

Here's where it was tested and rated at 78-80% (page 6): http://www.extremeoverclocking.com/r...eR_580W_1.html

Here's the 10/10 award review it got: http://www.velocityreviews.com/revie...e-580W-PSU.php
They only mention "High efficiency APFC (Active Power Factor Correction)."

Here's where I found it for $95: http://www.xoxide.com/hiper-power-supply-black.html

HERE you can see MANY English reviews, ratings i.e. (87%) and rewards:

My System

Kaliem:

I can see where this unit is a real popular buy in Europe The Brits pay a fortune for good quality computer parts especially when you compare like a Tagan 600 watt (although that unit aint gonna keep pace with a tagan!)

I see this maker as a good way to achieve a strong A- rating PSU for an affordable price I dont think you will be disappointed.

However that was a very meek system most of the testers were running, not really a legit challenge for a 580 watt PSU

test system:

Athlon64 3000+ @ 2200MHz
Motherboard MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum
(provided by MSI)

Memory x2 Crucial 512MB RAM
Video Card HIS 9800 Pro 128MB

OS Windows XP Pro w/ Service Pack

I think this unit is a great deal for European customers. I dont see this unit getting far in the US however, for the price tag of $129.00 they are going to be competing with the likes of Fortron, Seasonic, Silverstone etc The Hiper will be out classed in that arena.

You have selected a decent solid, affordable unit for the budget minded buyer.

Well we here import much of the Chinese and Japanese stuff thats hot. They know their PC's and IIRC it was a Japanese fella who overlocked the Intel to 7.1GHz a little while ago.

Yes the test systems were as you say, correct.

Like here's the first link:
Quote:
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3000 (Socket 754)
Heatsink: Zalman CNPS7000-Cu
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-K8VM800M Micro-ATX
System memory: 1GB Corsair XMS PC-3500 (2x512)
Hard drives: 2x Hitachi 80GB SATA, 1x WD 160GB PATA, 1x WD 80GB Passport USB hard drive
Video card: BFGTech 6600GT OC (AGP)
CD-ROM drives: 1x Lite-On DVD-RW LDW-851S, 1x Lite-On CD-RW LTR-52327S
System Fans: 1x generic 120mm fan, 1x 80mm CoolerMaster fan
Cold cathodes: 2x 6-inch blue cold cathodes
Here was another test:
Quote:
I installed this Power supply into my XION II Gamer case to replace the Hiper 480 Type-R. This build includes 2 x 512 OCZ EL DDR PC-3500 Gold, a BFG 6600 GT OC, an AMD Athlon 3000+, Seagate 80G and 120G IDE drives, and a Lite-on 16x DVD Burner; all mounted on my Soltek N4Pro 939 motherboard.
And after
Quote:
I added two more runs to the PS and dropped in a SLI setup for comparison. Here you see the same system now running on an ASUSA8N-SLI Deluxe with two BFG 6600 GT OC cards running at a slightly overclocked 230 MHz.

The Extreme Overlocking site gave it a very good review and its An EXTREME Overclocking Forum member who created & maintains the online PSU calculator program, called "eXtreme PSU Calculator" thats linked here many times.

This is what he said: "Note: The wattage ratings that the eXtreme PSU Calculator uses are considered "absolute maximum" figures, so the total wattage calculated *should* have a reasonable amount of excess capacity compared to the actual hardware."

If it was me concerned here, I'd probably wait and gather up the dosh to buy this: Cooler Master iGreen

The PSU reco given here by blackduck is very good and cheap for what it is too.

Enjoy the weekend guys :)

BTW we also have the seasonics tagans (i.e. THIS) etc just like over there but have many European and Asian stuff too.

you are 100% right the coolermaster is a smoker unit!

when a review starts off like this; its an excellent unit!

Cooler Master's iGreen series of power supplies are targeted as being high efficiency, super silent, and SLI & Crossfire ready. The increased power consumption of high-end PCs with multiple CPUs and GPUs puts a higher demand on the power supply, and the iGreen series is designed to meet these needs. Currently the iGreen series is available in 500W and 600W models. Both models feature a "Double Forward Switching Circuit" technology for 85% efficiency!

you cant put any junk components in a unit and get those efficiency ratings!

out of curosity ????? whats the difference in price ??????

They're not all the same. They have different efficiencies and different amps on the 12V rails. The ones your linking are most lower.

You missed out on an earlier deal with those for:
OCZ GXS 600W $84.99
OCZ GXS 700W $100.99

Here's some choices.

This is better than yours and has the thumbs up from here and everywhere: OCZ GameXStream OCZ600GXSSLI ATX12V 600W Dual 12V / +3.3@36A, +5V@30A, +12V1@18A, +12V2@18A, -12V@0.8A, -5@0.5A, +5VSB@3.0A

For $15 more you can get an even better 700W version.

EVEN better, I'd say Antec $99 after rebate 650W, ~85% efficiency +3.3@24A,+5V@24A,+12V1@19A,+12V2@19A,+12V3@19A,-12V@0.8A,+5VSB@3.0A

Now those can handle all of the graphics cards!

blackduck suggested a Silverstone 650W (main page) found here: Silverstone 650W Quad/12V +3.3V@33A, +5V@24A, +12V1@13A, +12V2@18A, +12V3@16A, +12V4@8A, -12V@0.5A, +5VSB@2.0A which is a TOP class PSU, along with some models of PC Power & Cooling, Seasonic, Corsair, Etasis & Zipp etc. BTW do note, its heavy, noisy, and very big in size so be careful with that. Many people can never fit it inside a big case. I've also heard that the Silverstone has some rather extreme crossloading requirements but I've not known this myself (through overlocker friends). Its supposed to be of the best anyway.

Then there's the CollerMaster iGreen 600W 85% efficiency for $103 that I found yesterday.

They'll definitely fit inside one of these Yeong Yang cases but thats a separate matter :D

Good luck with your choices!

Kalim:

you are now on the right track! You are speaking of very high quality PSU's for an affordable price just a very short time ago any psu in this range was over 200.00

I paid 229.oo for the enermax in my "system" (under avatar) yet the 85% units like the Antec 650 , Coolermaster etc are superior!

now your getting both Value & Quality

congrats

BTW: note the diff way the review you linked speaks of the Coolermaster unit then re-read the Hiper review sometimes you have to carefully "hear" not only what they say but HOW they say it

Thank you Linderman! Its due to your article mainly which inspired further reasearch, a little memory refreshing which was needed, and help from yourself and fellow contributors/mods etc. So my belated thanks.

You can still pay $200 for these PSU's in many places if you really want to

Yup the Hiper becomes class B in comparison to these. Gotta go

Ace:

before I bought that unit I would send an email to newegg requesting they provide you the UL registration number on the sticker of that PSU from their you can easily research who makes that unit

I bet its not one of the good manufacturers

like Topower Channelwell Seasonic Enermax I not just talking brand names here; I am talking the actual production plant
