Not detecting LPT
Hello,
I'm trying to install a Canon Bubblejet BJC-250 on my Windows XP. I installed the drivers required and tried to print out a test sheet but it did not print at all. I looked further into it and it appears that I don't even have any LPT ports configured. I tried to install one manually and the result: it created an LPT3 (?) printer port and Windows reported that there was a problem. I went into the device properties and it gave me this message: Windows cannot determine the settings for this device. Consult the documentation that came with this device and use the Resource tab to set the configuration. (Code 34) How do I install the LPT port correctly so that my printer will work? Thanks

I fixed the problem. I did what they said and went into the BIOS. From there, I accessed ECP settings and enabled the parallel port. After that, everything worked fine. It's nothing major -- it's just that sometimes the BIOS defaults the parallel setting to off.
